About CrisisFlare
CrisisFlare is a free, not-for-profit service that connects people in housing or family-violence crisis with support — calmly, privately, and at their own pace.
What we believe
- Reaching out should never put you at more risk. Safety and privacy come first, always.
- You’re in control. You decide what to share, with whom, and when.
- Everyone deserves to be met with warmth, not paperwork.
Why we’re different
The same goal, approached differently
Directories and helplines across Australia do essential work — we refer people to them every day, and we’re not here to replace any of them. We just start from a simple belief: when you’re already in crisis, finding help shouldn’t be another hard job.
Always-fresh details
Every listing is re-checked monthly by an automated freshness sweep, so phone numbers and details stay current — not years out of date.
Tailored to your situation
A few gentle, skippable questions surface services that match your circumstances, with a plain-language reason each one fits.
AI that understands you
Describe your situation in your own words and our AI helps surface the right kind of help — no guessing the right category.
Built on verified charity data
Our directory is built from the official Australian charities register (ACNC), and every published contact is independently verified.
Services can come to you
Raise a flare and nearby services with space can reach out — instead of you cold-calling down a list.
See who has space
Services keep their own availability updated, so you see who actually has room right now.
Private by default
No account, no repeating your story, one-tap Quick Exit — and refuge locations stay confidential.
Free & independent
Not-for-profit, no ads, Australian-hosted. We never sell your data.

Who we work with
Refuges, crisis accommodation, family-violence services, food relief, health and legal services. When a service shows it has space, that comes from the service keeping its own availability up to date.
